The California Fire Marshall has established new egress codes for the 2007 California Building Codes. Chapter 10 of these codes outlines new means of egress requirements. Safe Glow™ is here to help you meet these requirements with high performance products that won’t detract from the aesthetics of your building.

The following Safe Glow™ products will help you meet these codes:

Low Level Markers– Used for path marking, outlining doorframes and lighting stair handrails. For path marking, this product should be installed continuously on all egress hallways no higher than 8 inches above the floor.

Cove Base Can be used for path marking and should be installed continuously on all egress hallways.

Exit SignsSafe Glow™ Exit Signs are certified to replace all your exit signs for greater energy efficiency and can be mounted either high or low. When mounted low, the bottom of the sign should be no less than six inches nor more than 8 inches above the floor. For exit and exit access doors, the sign will be adjacent to the door and with the closest edge of the sign or marker within 4” of the door frame.

We feel that the 2007 Building Codes do not go far enough to utilize well-designed photoluminescent systems in helping to safeguard lives. Please take the time to review our full product line to see how a complete system can add to the level of safety you can provide for your employees and guests.
